Why Does IAM User Login Fail?
Symptom
An IAM user fails to log in and sees a message indicating that the username or password is incorrect or login from the current device is not allowed due to the access control rules set by the administrator.
Troubleshooting
- Incorrect username or password
- You selected an incorrect login entry.
- Incorrect account name or IAM username.
Enter the correct account name and IAM username. If you do not know your IAM user name or the name of the account used to create the IAM user, contact the administrator.
- Incorrect password.
Enter the correct password. If you have forgotten your password, reset it by referring to How Do I Reset My Password?
- You did not clear the browser cache after changing or resetting the password.
- Login from the current device is not allowed due to the access control rules set by the administrator.
- The administrator has set access control rules on the IAM console to limit cloud platform access to specific IP address ranges, IPv4 CIDR blocks, or VPC endpoints.
Solution: Contact the administrator to check the ACL rules on the console and log in to the cloud service platform from an allowed device, or ask the administrator to modify the ACL rules.
