Creating a User and Granting ServiceStage Permissions
You can use Identity and Access Management (IAM) for fine-grained permissions control for your ServiceStage. With IAM, you can:
- Create IAM users for personnel based on your enterprise's organizational structure. Each IAM user has their own identity credentials for accessing ServiceStage resources.
- Grant only the permissions required for users to perform a specific task.
- Entrust a Huawei Cloud account or a cloud service to perform efficient O&M on your ServiceStage resources.
If your Huawei Cloud account does not require individual IAM users, you may skip over this section.
This section describes the procedure for granting user permissions. Figure 1 shows the process flow.
Prerequisites
Before granting permissions to user groups, learn about system-defined permissions in System-defined permissions for ServiceStage. To grant permissions for other services, learn about all system-defined permissions supported by IAM.
Process Flow
- Create a user group and grant permissions.
Create a user group on the IAM console and assign the ServiceStage ReadOnlyAccess permissions to the group.
- Create a user and add it to the user group.
Create a user on the IAM console and add it to the user group created in 1.
- Log in and verify permissions.
To verify that the user only has the read permissions for ServiceStage, perform the following steps:
- Log in to ServiceStage.
- Choose Application Management and click Create Application.
If a message appears indicating that you have insufficient permissions to perform the operation, the ServiceStage ReadOnlyAccess policy is in effect.
