Switching from Dedicated Edition to Basic Edition

Scenarios

You can switch the pay-per-use or yearly/monthly service mesh of the Dedicated edition purchased in ASM 1.0 to a free Basic edition to save costs. After the Dedicated edition is converted to the Basic edition, the service mesh can manage 200 instances.

If there are more than 200 instances in the Dedicated edition, the actual number of instances will be used in the Basic edition. In a new service mesh, only a maximum of 200 instances can be created.

Procedure

1. Log in to the ASM console and search for the Basic service mesh by edition.
2. Perform the following operations based on the billing modes:
   • Pay-per-use

     Click in the upper right corner of the pay-per-use service mesh. In the dialog box that is displayed, click OK.

   • Yearly/Monthly

     Click in the upper right corner of the yearly/monthly service mesh. In the dialog box that is displayed, click OK. After you unsubscribe from a yearly/monthly service mesh of the Dedicated edition, the service mesh will automatically turn into the free Basic edition.
