Which Items Occupy the Storage of My RDS for MySQL Instances?

User data (excluding backup data) and the data required for normal RDS for MySQL instance operations (such as system databases, rollback logs, redo logs, indexes, and other related data) take up the storage on your instance. The storage space includes the file system overhead required for inode, reserved blocks, and database operations. Binlogs generated by RDS for MySQL instances also occupy the storage.

These files help you ensure the stability of RDS for MySQL instances.
