Overview

Different from conventional passive caching solutions, memory acceleration of GeminiDB Redis API speeds up access to MySQL databases. Users can create rules on the GUI to automatically cache MySQL database data.

  • GeminiDB Redis instances created using memory acceleration are billed separately according to the following rules:
    • A GeminiDB Redis instance with 16 GB, 24 GB, 32 GB, 48 GB, or 64 GB of memory is free for three months. It will be billed according to normal billing rules upon expiry.
    • Instances with other specifications are billed according to normal billing rules. For details, see Billing Overview.
  • An IAM account can be used to create a maximum of three GeminiDB Redis instances, each with 16 GB, 24 GB, 32 GB, 48 GB, or 64 GB of memory, for free for three months in one region.
  • You can change specifications of a created GeminiDB Redis instance, but you will be billed after the change.
  • To avoid extra bills, delete the GeminiDB Redis instance immediately after removing a mapping.

The conventional cache solution is inefficient and unreliable as it necessitates users to create code for writing MySQL data to the cache. The active cache solution with cloud data memory acceleration (DB Cache) supports visualized configuration on the GUI, making it easier to set up. Once the configuration is done, data can be synchronized automatically. You can also filter data and set a validity period to enhance development efficiency and data reliability.
