Adding EIPs to or Removing EIPs from a Shared Bandwidth
Scenarios
You can add EIPs to a shared bandwidth as required to share the bandwidth and reduce public network bandwidth costs. You can also remove EIPs from a shared bandwidth.
You can add multiple EIPs to a shared bandwidth at the same time.
Constraints
- To add an EIP to a shared bandwidth, the EIP must use the pay-per-use billing, be in the same region, and be of the same type as the shared bandwidth.
To add a yearly/monthly EIP to a shared bandwidth, you need to first change its billing mode to pay-per-use.
- After an EIP is added to a shared bandwidth:
- The cloud service instance bound to the EIP uses the shared bandwidth.
- The original peak bandwidth of the EIP becomes invalid, and the EIP uses the peak bandwidth of the shared bandwidth.
- The original billing mode of the EIP becomes invalid, and the EIP traffic or bandwidth is no longer billed.
- The EIP reservation price is irrelevant to whether the EIP is added to a shared bandwidth.
Procedure
You can add EIPs to a shared bandwidth on the console or by calling an API.
- Go to the shared bandwidth list page.
- In the shared bandwidth list, locate the target shared bandwidth that you want to add EIPs to. In the Operation column, choose Add Public IP Address.
- On the Add Public IP Address page, select the EIPs or IPv6 addresses to be added.
You can add an EIP to a shared bandwidth even if it is already added to another shared bandwidth. Adding an EIP to a new shared bandwidth automatically removes it from the original one.
After an EIP is added to a shared bandwidth, its dedicated bandwidth becomes invalid and the EIP starts using the shared bandwidth. The EIP's dedicated bandwidth is then deleted and no longer billed.
- Click OK.
You can call the API to add EIPs to a shared bandwidth. For details, see Adding an EIP to a Shared Bandwidth.
Procedure
You can remove EIPs from a shared bandwidth on the console or by calling an API.
- Go to the shared bandwidth list page.
- In the shared bandwidth list, locate the row that contains the bandwidth from which EIPs are to be removed, choose More > Remove Public IP Address in the Operation column.
- On the Remove Public IP Address page, select the EIPs or IPv6 addresses to be removed.
- Configure the EIP bandwidth after the EIP is removed. You can modify the EIP billing mode and bandwidth size.
- Click OK.
An EIP remains unchanged after it is removed from a shared bandwidth. The EIP bandwidth is billed based on its billing mode before the EIP is added to the shared bandwidth.
To remove an EIP from a shared bandwidth, refer to Removing an EIP from a Shared Bandwidth.
