Data Domain Management

Add New Data Field

1. Logging In to the Database Encryption System using the system administrator (sysadmin) account .
2. In the left navigation tree, select Rule Management > Discovery Rule.
3. Click Add Data Domain, as shown in Figure 1.

4. Enter the data field name in the Pop-up Figure 2, then click Confirm to save and close the dialog box. The parameters for the newly added data field are shown in Table 1.

   Table 1 New data field parameter description

   Parameter	Description
   Data Domain	Enter the name of the user-defined data field category. This name is assigned to a meaningful business entity to facilitate management and memorization. For example: phone numbers, names, etc.
   Remark	Enter a note or explanation for this data field.

Edit Data Domain

The Data Field Editor is primarily used to edit the name and remarks of a data field.

1. Logging In to the Database Encryption System using the system administrator (sysadmin) account .
2. In the left navigation tree, select Rule Management > Discovery Rule.
3. Select the small eye icon next to the data field you wish to edit – this indicates that you have selected the current data field, as shown in Figure 3.

4. Select Edit to enter the data domain editing mode, as shown in Figure 4. Based on your actual business requirements, edit the Data Domain and Remark fields.

5. After completing the editing, click Confirm to save the edited results and finish editing the data field.

Delete Data Field

The Data Field Deletion function removes a data field along with the sensitive data discovery rules associated with that field; it also affects the defined encryption rules and data masking algorithms.

When deleting a data field, the discovery rules, encryption rules, or data masking algorithms associated with that field may still be referenced or used by relevant business objects. Therefore, deleting a data field could potentially cause system anomalies; it is recommended to proceed with caution.

1. Logging In to the Database Encryption System using the system administrator (sysadmin) account .
2. In the left navigation tree, select Rule Management > Discovery Rule.
3. Select the Trash icon next to the data field you wish to delete to remove the current data field; see Figure 5 for details.

4. When you select to delete a data domain, the system will prompt you to proceed with caution, as shown in Figure 6.

5. Click Confirm to delete the current data field.

Import Data Domain

To prevent accidental deletion of data fields, the system provides a feature for importing data domain to restore them.
