Intelligent Discovery

Intelligent Discovery is designed to eliminate redundant data discovery and cleansing processes during the sensitive data discovery phase, thereby minimizing the associated workload as much as possible. To use Intelligent Discovery, you must first save a version of the discovery results.

Illustrate the Smart Discovery feature with an example.

For example, during the phone number discovery process, the numbers are identified and organized upon the first detection. When the discovery task is executed again, we do not want the already identified and organized data to be overwritten. In such cases, the Intelligent Discovery feature should be selected.

In the Action column, click More and select Inteligent Discovery, as shown in Figure 1.

Similarly, use the Batch Rule Configuration feature to reset the field rules that were incorrectly labeled as phone numbers, then save this change as a new version.

After running a discovery task using the Intelligent Discovery feature, those fields will no longer be flagged as phone numbers.
