Device Information

This module displays basic information about the current device, including the host name, operating system version, and network details (such as IP address and DNS). Users can quickly assess the device's operational status and network configuration through this module.

Viewing Device Information

  1. Logging In to the Database Encryption System using the system administrator (sysadmin) account.
  2. Select System Management > Device Information in the left navigation tree.
  3. View the device information. Device information parameters are explained as shown below.

    Parameter

    Description

    Host Name

    The device's network hostname.

"localhost.localdomain" is the default value, indicating that no custom name has been configured.

    Network Card x

    Network Card

    Network interface name.

`ens33` is a common naming convention for Ethernet network cards in Linux systems (CentOS 7+). Naming conventions may vary across different operating systems (e.g., `Ethernet` on Windows versus `eth0` on older versions of Linux).

    IP Address

The IPv4 address bound to the network interface card.

The current IP address is 192.168.2.171, which belongs to the private address range (Class C) and is used for local area network communication.

    Subnet Mask

Used to divide an IP address into network bits and host bits. The subnet mask 255.255.255.0 indicates that the first 24 bits represent the network portion and the last 8 bits represent the host portion; this subnet can accommodate a maximum of 254 devices.

    Default Gateway

The exit address used by the device to access an external network (outside its local subnet); typically, the LAN port IP address of the router, e.g., 192.168.2.1. Incorrect configuration may prevent internet access.

    Preferred DNS

The primary domain name resolution server is used to Transform domain names into IP addresses. 114.114.114.114 is a widely used public DNS server in China; upon purchasing the product, the DBSS management console will issue the corresponding DNS records.

    DNS2

Secondary DNS server: Automatically switches over when the primary DNS is unavailable; after purchasing the product, the DBSS management console will issue the corresponding DNS records.

    DNS3

Third backup DNS server: Used very rarely as a fallback option when the DNS2 server fails; optional.
