Functions
This section describes main functions of CloudDC. You can check if a certain function is available in a region on the management console.
Purchasing an Intelligent Rack
You can purchase an intelligent rack on the console to quickly get a highly reliable data center runtime environment. This eliminates the need for long-term investments in traditional data center site selection, infrastructure construction, facility reconstruction, O&M, and operations. For details, see Purchasing an Intelligent Rack.
Managing Intelligent Racks
You can use a web-based console to view the details of an intelligent rack where an iMetal server is deployed or view iMetal server details by intelligent rack. You can also export information about intelligent racks on the console. For details, see Managing an Intelligent Rack.
Managing Equipment Rooms
You can use a web-based console to view information about the equipment room where an iMetal server is deployed. You can view iMetal server information by equipment room or export all equipment room data in an XLSX file. For details, see Managing an Equipment Room.
Creating an iMetal Server
You can purchase iMetal servers on the management console and connect them to Huawei Cloud for low-latency access to cloud services and flexibly expanding workloads to the cloud during peak hours to enhance service elasticity. For details, see Creating an iMetal Server.
Viewing iMetal Servers
You can view the iMetal server status and details on the management console, and export details of all or specified iMetal servers from the console. For details, see Viewing iMetal Servers.
Logging In to an iMetal Server
You can choose an appropriate method to log in to an iMetal server. For Linux and Windows servers, use SSH for login and set the password as the login credential. For Windows servers, you can also click Remote Login on the management console and set the password as the login credential. For details, see Logging In to an iMetal Server.
Managing iMetal Servers
You can manage an iMetal server on the management console, including resetting its password, starting, stopping, and restarting the server, and exporting logs. For details, see Managing an iMetal Servers.
OS Management
You can install or uninstall an OS for an iMetal server through the management console.
OS installation includes selecting an image for an iMetal server, configuring a network, and setting the password for remote login. For details, see Installing an OS on an iMetal Server.
OS uninstallation: If the OS of an iMetal server cannot run properly, you can uninstall and reinstall the OS to rectify the fault. For details, see Uninstalling the OS from an iMetal Server.
Monitoring iMetal Servers
iMetal servers support out-of-band (OOB) monitoring. You can obtain the health status and operating information of servers from out-of-band monitoring data to detect and locate faults promptly. For details, see Monitoring an iMetal Server.
Auditing an iMetal Server
With Cloud Trace Service (CTS), you can audit key operations on an iMetal server and view audit logs. For details, see Auditing an iMetal Server Using CTS.
CloudDCN Subnets
With CloudDCN subnets, you can connect your physical servers (iMetal servers) to an isolated, private, and high-performance cloud network. For more information, see CloudDCN Subnet.
CloudDCN Subnet Network ACLs
A network ACL is an optional layer of protection for your CloudDCN subnets. After you add inbound and outbound rules to a network ACL and associate CloudDCN subnets with it, you can control traffic in and out of the subnets. For more information, see CloudDCN Subnet Network ACL.
Elastic Network Interfaces and Supplementary Network Interfaces
An elastic network interface (referred to as a network interface in this documentation) is a virtual network card. Each iMetal server comes with a network interface. You cannot unbind the network interface from an iMetal server.
Supplementary network interfaces can be attached to VLAN sub-interfaces of network interfaces of an iMetal server for flexible and high-availability network configuration.
For details, see Elastic Network Interface and Supplementary Network Interface.
