Basic Encryption Information Preview

During or after the configuration encryption process, or when you need to understand the overall encryption status, you can preview the basic encryption information; you can also preview the basic encryption information before configuring the first encryption field.

Procedure

  1. Logging In to the Database Encryption System using the system administrator (sysadmin) account .
  2. Select Project Management from the left navigation tree.
  3. Select the item that needs to be encrypted, hover your mouse over it, and click Enter.
  4. In the left navigation tree, select Encryption Settings> Encryption Policy Settings. The current page displays an overview of the entire Asset Database, as shown in Figure 1; the descriptions of the basic configuration parameters are provided in Table 1.

The above diagram contains the following key information:

    • Position 1: Displays the Asset Database – the name of the Asset Database used in this project.
    • Position 2: The Schema within the displayed database.
    • Position 3: Displays tables under a Schema.
    • Batch Configuration: Encryption is implemented by linking sensitive data discovery with sensitive field encryption; for detailed instructions, please refer to Linking Discovery Results to Dynamic Desensitization Settings.

      Parameter

      Description

      Project name

      Current project name.

      Data Source Name

The name of the Asset Database as defined in the Asset Database Definition.

      Data source type

Specific database types, e.g.: Oracle, MySQL.

      IP/Domain Name

The IP address or domain name of the current asset database.

      Managed Schema

      The currently managed Schema.

      Total Fields

The total number of fields in this database.

      Encrypted Table Count

How many tables in this database involve encryption?

      Encrypted Field Count

How many fields in this database have been encrypted?

      Unencrypted Table Count

How many tables in this database do not involve encryption?

      Unencrypted Field Count

How many fields in this database do not require encryption?

  5. Expand the Schema to locate the table that needs to be encrypted.
  6. Select the table that needs to be encrypted, then click the Field Encryption Configuration tab.

You can view the current table encryption configuration, as shown in Figure 2; you can also configure encryption for the fields in the current table.
