Third-party Software Proxy Connectivity Test

Use third-party tools to test the network and service connectivity between the proxy service and the business systems, encryption services, and databases; proactively identify any anomalies related to ports, permissions, or network paths to ensure there are no communication failures during the subsequent formal integration of the application.

Procedure

  1. Click the Project Management menu item on the left to access the Project Management List page, as shown in Figure 1.

  2. Select the item you wish to encrypt from the right-side item list; hover the mouse over the item and click Enter, as shown in Figure 2.

  3. After clicking Enter in the previous step, the Project Homepage page will be displayed, as shown in Figure 3.

  4. Click the Pre Release menu on the left, then click Start in the Action column on the right to launch the Pre-Release Proxy Service, as shown in Figure 4.

  5. Obtain the virtual IP address of the database encryption product from the Database Security Service (DBSS) management console; this IP address will replace the database's IP address, as shown in Figure 5. Traffic generated when an application connects to the database will pass through this proxy; the proxy will encrypt the fields in the application's data packets that require encryption before storing them in the database; the encrypted traffic returned by the database will then be decrypted and returned to the application.

  6. Connecting to a database using a third-party tool within the same VPC (as shown in Figure 6) – this represents the query results displayed by DBeaver on a Windows computer within the same VPC; the ability to query data confirms that the proxy service has been configured successfully.
