Modifying a Standby Server Group

Scenarios

You can change the name of a standby server group and update its image based on service requirements.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Workspace Application Streaming console as an administrator.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Server Groups.
  3. Click the name of the active server group you created. The basic information page of the active server group is displayed.
  4. Click the The Standby tab. The basic information page of the standby server group is displayed.
  5. Perform the operations listed in Table 1 as required.

    Modifying a server group image
    1. Click Modify Server Group. The Modify Server Group page is displayed.
    2. Switch Image to the required one.
    3. Select Confirm the image modification and click OK.
      NOTE:

      If the image is replaced, old applications may fail to be connected.

    When adding or upgrading an application, you can change the server group image to the image for installing new applications.

    Modifying a server group name
    1. Click Modify Server Group. The Modify Server Group page is displayed.
    2. Modify the server group name.
    3. Click OK.

    If the server group name is misleading, you can rename the server group.

    Modifying the server group description
    1. Click Modify Server Group. The Modify Server Group page is displayed.
    2. Modify the description.
    3. Click OK.

    The description records the image and purpose of the server group for easier maintenance.

    Modifying the system disk size
    1. Click Modify Server Group. The Modify Server Group page is displayed.
    2. Modify the system disk size.
    3. Click OK.

    You can adjust the system disk size based on service requirements.

    Modifying OU information
    1. Click Modify Server Group. The Modify Server Group page is displayed.
    2. Select the required OU from the OU Name drop-down list.
    3. Click OK.
      NOTE:

      This operation is required only when the AD is connected.

    If you have not configured OU information for the server, configure OU information here.

    Configuring a scaling policy
    1. Click Edit on the right of Scaling Policy. The Scaling Policy page is displayed.
    2. Toggle on on the right of Scaling Policy to enable the scaling policy.
    3. Configure a scaling policy.
      • Scale-Out Policy: When the session usage exceeds x%, pay-per-use elastic resources are automatically created.
        NOTE:

        Session usage = Sum of instance sessions in use/(Max sessions per instance × Number of available instances)

        Number of available instances: the number of servers that are in the Ready status but not under maintenance

        Maximum number of sessions = Default number of sessions in the selected package + Number of additionally purchased sessions

      • You can create 1 to 10 sessions at a time. The system supports a maximum of 1 to 100 sessions in total.
      • Scale-In Policy: Elastic resources without session connections can be retained for a maximum of 5 to 120 minutes.
    4. Click Edit on the right of Scaling Policy. The Scaling Policy page is displayed.
    5. Toggle off on the right of Scaling Policy to disable the scaling policy.
    6. Click OK.

    You can enable or disable the scaling policy of a server group.

    Determining the server group status
    1. Click Enable on the right of Server Group Status. In the displayed dialog box, click OK.
    2. Click Disable on the right of Server Group Status. In the displayed dialog box, click OK.

    You can enable or disable a server group.
