Can I Access RDS Standby Instances?

No. You can directly access RDS primary instances and read replicas. Standby instances are not visible to users, so you cannot access them directly.

RDS supports primary/standby switchover. If you start a switchover, the original standby instance will become primary and data is synchronized between the primary and standby instances in real time.
