Billing Items

The billing items of Live cover both basic and value-added services. For details about the Live pricing, see Live Pricing Details. Low Latency Live (LLL) is now part of Huawei Cloud SparkRTC. For details about the pricing, see SparkRTC Pricing Details.

  • Basic service billing items include Cloud Stream Live, Low Latency Live, stream push to third-party destinations, and Media Live. They are billed based on the traffic or bandwidth consumed at the distribution nodes in the area where your live content is played. All basic service billing items share a unified billing option. The supported options include billing by traffic, daily peak bandwidth, and 95th percentile bandwidth. You can choose the option that best suits your needs.
  • Value-added service billing items include Cloud Live recording, Cloud Live snapshot capturing, and Cloud Live transcoding. These services are available on-demand, and you pay only for your actual usage.

For details, see Table 1 and Table 2

  • If you switch from traffic-based billing or daily peak bandwidth billing to 95th percentile bandwidth billing, the change will take effect in the current month. If you switch from 95th percentile bandwidth billing to another option, the change will take effect on the first day of the next month, and you will continue to be billed under the original option until the change takes effect.
  • The billing option you choose is applied globally. The effective billing mode depends on your most recent configuration or the billing mode activated for the specific billing items in your latest commercial contract.
    • All acceleration domain names under an account use the same billing mode.
    • Uniform billing is also applied to all basic service billing items, including Cloud Stream Live, LLL, stream-push to third-party destinations, and Media Live, which are billed collectively based on either traffic or bandwidth.

Cloud Stream Live

You can choose to be billed by traffic, daily peak bandwidth, or 95th percentile bandwidth. By default, only output is billed.

  • By traffic: You are billed by the traffic generated per hour.
  • By peak bandwidth: The system measures and records a bandwidth value every 5 minutes, so 288 values are recorded per day. The largest value of each day is used as the billable bandwidth.
  • By 95th percentile bandwidth: In each calendar month, the peak bandwidth is measured and recorded on each valid day. At the end of the month, the recorded values are sorted from the highest to the lowest, and the top 5% of them are thrown away. The highest value remaining is the billable bandwidth of the month, and a bill is generated based on the contract price.
  • Pay-per-use
  • Cloud Stream Live billed by traffic: prepaid resource packages
