ICP |
The Internet Content Provider (ICP) provides Internet information and value-added services. |
ICP filing |
A legal requirement in the Chinese mainland. All websites based in the Chinese mainland must complete an ICP filing. Huawei Cloud (Chinese mainland) provides you ICP filing for free. |
MIIT |
Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. As required by the laws and regulations of China, Internet information service providers need to file with the MIIT to obtain an ICP number. |
Service provider |
Short for Internet service provider. If you are using Huawei Cloud resources, Huawei Cloud is your service provider. Your service provider provides website hosting services and helps you apply for an ICP filing. |
Entity name |
The name of the organization or individual applying for an ICP filing. The filing entity and the website type must be matched. For a personal website, the entity must be the website operator himself or herself; otherwise, the entity must be an enterprise, or an organization. |
Entity leader |
The person in charge of the entity. If an organization or enterprise registered in the Chinese mainland applies for an ICP filing, the entity leader can be the organization or enterprise's legal representative, as required by most communications administrations. If an individual applies for an ICP filing, the entity leader must be the person himself or herself. |
Website administrator |
The person in charge of the website. If an organization or enterprise registered in the Chinese mainland applies for an ICP filing, the website administrator must be a Chinese employee. If an individual applies for an ICP filing, the website administrator must be that individual. |
Website |
A website that can be accessed using an IP address or a domain name. A website is a tool for communication, like a bulletin board. You can publish or access information on the website, or use the site to provide or access network services. |
Domain name |
Only one top-level domain name is allowed for an ICP filing. |
IP address |
Only a Huawei Cloud EIP (public IP address) can be used to apply for an ICP filing on Huawei Cloud. |
Entity ICP number |
After approving an initial ICP filing, the MIIT will issue an ICP number to the entity in the format of [abbreviation of province, autonomous region or municipality] + ICP + [number], for example, GD ICP 00000000, where GD is short for Guangdong province. A filing entity can have only one ICP number. If there are more than one, the extra numbers must be cancelled. |
Website ICP number |
The website ICP number is in the format of [abbreviation of province, autonomous region or municipality] + ICP + [entity serial number] + [website serial number]. An entity may have multiple websites. For example, GD ICP 00000000-1 and GD ICP 00000000-2. |
