Function Overview

  • Namespace

    • You can create namespaces to logically divide your cloud container instances into different groups, especially in scenarios where a large number of users work across multiple projects.

      Currently, CCI supports general-computing namepaces. Workloads you create will run on clusters that belong to this type of namespace.

  • Workload

    • A workload is an application running on Kubernetes. No matter how many components are there in your workload, you can run it in a group of Kubernetes pods. A workload is an abstract model of a group of pods in Kubernetes. Workloads classified in Kubernetes include Deployments, jobs, and cron jobs.

      CCI supports Kubernetes-native deployment and lifecycle management of container workloads, including creation, configuration, monitoring, auto scaling, upgrade, uninstall, service discovery, and load balancing.

    • Container storage provides storage for container workloads. It supports multiple storage classes. A pod can use any amount of storage.

      Data can be stored in various Huawei Cloud storage volumes, including Elastic Volume Service (EVS), Scalable File Service (SFS), and SFS Turbo.

  • Add-on Management

    • Add-ons are extension of the existing features. You can install thecoredns add-on to extend CCI features.

      The coredns add-on provides the internal domain name resolution service for your other workloads. Do not delete or upgrade this workload; otherwise, the internal domain name resolution service will become unavailable.

  • Log Management

    • CCI allows you to mount a log storage volume for log collection. To write logs to the log storage volume, you only need to add the log storage volume when you create a workload.

      CCI is interconnected with Application Operations Management (AOM). AOM collects the .log files in container log storage and dumps them in AOM.
