When Will I Be Charged Handling Fees? How Is the Refund Calculated?

For details, see Cloud Service Unsubscriptions.

Charging Handling Fees

If you unsubscribe from a renewal period that has not taken effect, from inactive resources, or from a resource that fails to be provisioned, no handling fees will be charged and used cash coupons will be returned.

If you unsubscribe from a resource that is in use, handling fees will be charged, and used cash coupons will be returned proportionally based on the payment structure.

Calculating Refunds

  • Unsubscribing from renewal periods or inactive resources

    Refund = Paid amount

In this case, all paid amount is refunded and the used cash coupons are returned.

  • Unsubscribing from in-use resources

Refund = Paid amount + Used cash coupons – Consumed amount – Unsubscription handling fee

    • Paid amount refers to the amount you actually paid with your cash account and flexi-purchase coupons, excluding any payment in cash coupons.
    • Consumed amount = (Paid amount + Used cash coupons) × (Actual usage duration/Order duration) (Both the actual usage duration and the order duration are rounded to the nearest hour.)

      Parameter

      Description

      Order duration

This is calculated from the hour when the order takes effect. For example, if you purchase a resource at 10:30, the order duration will be considered to have started from 10:00.

The order effective time is rounded based on the original order type.

      • For an original order of a new purchase or renewal, the total order duration starts from the hour when the order takes effect. For example, if you purchase a resource at 10:30, the order duration will be considered to have started from 10:00.
      • For an original order of a specification change (upgrade or downgrade), the total order duration starts from the next hour after the order takes effect. For example, if you change the resource specifications in an order at 10:40, the total order duration will be considered to have started from 11:00.

      Actual usage duration

This is calculated based on the next top of the hour when the unsubscription is performed. For example, if you unsubscribe from a resource at 18:40, the actual usage duration will be considered ending at 19:00.

Example: If you purchased a monthly EVS disk at 10:30:00 on January 01, 2026, and it expired at 23:59:59 on February 01, 2026, then the order duration was 31 days and 14 hours (from 10:00:00 on January 01, 2026 to 00:00:00 on February 02, 2026). If you unsubscribed from the EVS disk at 18:40:00 on January 08, 2026, then the actual usage duration was 7 days and 9 hours (from January 01, 2026 10:00:00 to January 08, 2026 19:00:00).

    • Unsubscription handling fee: There is a handling fee for unsubscription. The table below describes the handling fee details.
