Creating Cloud Search Service Data Connections
Before establishing a data connection to Cloud Search Service (CSS), ensure that the following conditions are met:
- You have obtained the IP address and port number of CSS.
- To enable network communication between DLV and CSS, you can use a VPC connection as a network proxy. Create a VPC connection by referring to instructions in Managing VPC Connections.
Creating CSS Data Connections
- Log in to the DLV console.
- On the Data page, click the workspace drop-down list at the top of the page, select the workspace to be accessed, and click New Data Connection.

- In the New Data Connection dialog box, set Data Source Type to Cloud Search Service and set the related parameters.

Description
name
Name of the data connection. Must contain 1 to 32 characters and contain only letters, digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_).
clusterid
Name of the CSS cluster to be connected.
Host
Intranet IP address of the CSS cluster to be connected.
Port
Port of the CSS cluster to be connected.
safe mode
Whether the security mode will be enabled for the CSS cluster you want to connect to. By default, the security mode is disabled.
Username
Administrator account of the CSS cluster. This parameter is valid only when Security Mode is available. The default value is admin.
Password
Administrator account of the CSS cluster. This parameter is valid only when Security Mode is available. The default value is admin.
Agent
Select an available connection agent, such as VPC connection, CDM proxy, or Internet. To use the VPC connection, create a VPC connection by referring to instructions in Managing VPC Connections.
schema
Enter a mapping name that is different from the index name.
- Click OK.
Using Cloud Search Service Data Sources
You can configure and use the Cloud Search Service data source by referring to Using DWS Data Sources.
