Managing VPC Connections

Updated on 2025-01-22 GMT+08:00

You can use a VPC connection to connect a cloud data source to DLV for data display on screens.

DLV supports the following data sources connected through VPC:

  • DWS
  • MapReduce Service ClickHouse
  • RDS for MySQL
  • RDS for GaussDB
  • RDS for PostgreSQL
  • GeminiDB for InfluxDB (RDS for GaussDB for Influx)
  • RDS for SQL Server
  • Cloud Search Service
  • Custom data sources on ECSs

Prerequisites

  • Only users with the DLV FullAccess and VPCEndpoint Administrator permissions or users with the Tenant Administrator permission can create or delete VPC connections.

The Tenant Administrator permission has all cloud service administrator permissions except the IAM management permission. For security purposes, you are not advised to grant this permission to IAM users. Exercise caution when performing this operation.

  • The data source instance to be connected has been created.
  • The corresponding security group rules have been configured.

Create VPC Connections

  1. Log in to the DLV console.
  2. Choose Control Center > VPC Connection Management. Click Create VPC Connection.

  3. Configure the following parameters.

Table 1 Parameters for creating a VPC connection

    Parameter

    Description

    Region

Select the region where the DLV screen is located.

    Connection Name

Enter the name of the VPC connection.

    Service Category

Select the type of the data source to be connected through the VPC. The following types of data sources are supported:

    • DWS
    • MapReduce Service ClickHouse
    • RDS for MySQL
    • RDS for GaussDB
    • RDS for PostgreSQL
    • GeminiDB for InfluxDB (RDS for GaussDB for Influx)
    • RDS for SQL Server
    • Cloud Search Service
    • Custom data sources on ECSs

    Instance

Instances of the data source you want to connect to. (This is required for all data sources except the custom data sources on ECSs.)

    Private IP Addresses

Private IP addresses of ECSs. This parameter is mandatory only when custom data sources are configured on ECSs.

    VPC ID

ID of the VPC used by ECSs. This parameter is mandatory only when custom data sources are configured on ECSs.

    Network ID

IP address of the VPC subnet used by ECSs. This parameter is mandatory only when custom data sources are configured on ECSs.

    Security Group ID

ID of the security group used by ECSs. This parameter is mandatory only when custom data sources are configured on ECSs. Use commas (,) to separate multiple IDs.

  4. Click OK.

After the VPC connection is added, you can choose Data > New Data Connection to create a data connection and use the VPC connection as the connection proxy.
