Changing Specifications
Scenarios
If the specifications of a purchased desktop pool cannot meet service requirements, you can change the specifications, including vCPUs and memory.
- The specifications of a yearly/monthly-billed desktop cannot be decreased.
- The specifications of a pay-per-use desktop can be increased or decreased as required.
Constraints
- When modifying desktop pool specifications, users cannot select vCPU and memory resources that are no longer provided.
- You cannot perform other operations on the desktop pool when modifying the specifications.
- Some desktops in the desktop pool have different disk specifications. Unify the disk specifications of desktops in the desktop list first.
Changing Desktop Pool Specifications
- Log in to the console.
- In the navigation pane, choose Desktops > Desktop Pools.
The Desktop Pools page is displayed.
- You can access the page for modifying desktop pool specifications in either of the following ways:
- Method 1:
- Locate the desktop pool whose specifications are to be changed, and choose More > Change Specifications in the Operation column. The page for changing specifications is displayed.
- Method 2:
- On the desktop pool page, click the name of the desktop pool whose specifications are to be changed. The basic information page of the desktop pool is displayed.
- Click Change Specifications on the right of the Package Specifications column in the desktop pool information. The page for changing specifications is displayed.
The selected ECSs must be in the same billing mode, of the same flavor, and located in the same AZ.
- Method 1:
- Set the applicable scope as required.
- Only added desktops: The change is only applied to new desktops that are automatically or manually added to the desktop pool.
- Added and idle desktops: The change is applied to new desktops that are automatically or manually added to the desktop pool and idle desktops (those not assigned to users) in the desktop pool.
- Added and existing desktops: The change is applied to new desktops that are automatically or manually added to the desktop pool and all desktops in the desktop pool.
If there are more than 100 yearly/monthly desktops, only the option Only added desktops is available.
- In the Target Specifications area, select the required specifications.
- Confirm the configurations before and after the specification change.
- Changing the specifications of a yearly/monthly or pay-per-use desktop will change the billing of CPUs and memory.
- Do not perform any operations on the desktop when changing its specifications.
- Changing specifications does not affect the data on the system disk and data disks of the ECS.
- Confirm the change information and select Stop desktop to change specifications.
If Only added desktops is selected as the applicable scope, the Stop desktop to change specifications option is not displayed.
- Confirm the operation, and enter YES or click Auto Enter.
- Click Next and click OK.
- For pay-per-use desktops, go to the task submission prompt page and click Return to the desktop list. On the desktop pool management page, click the name of the desktop pool whose specifications are to be changed. The basic information of the desktop pool is displayed. The desktop pool status is Changing. You can view the modified desktop pool specifications in Package Specifications on the basic desktop pool information page.
- Changing specifications does not affect the data on the system disk and data disks of the desktop.
- For pay-per-use desktops, pay attention to the fee changes caused by configuration changes (only the CPU and memory fees are included).
- For yearly/monthly-billed desktops, you will be redirected to different pages, depending on whether you need to supplement fees.
Changing specifications does not affect the data on the system disk and data disks of the desktop.
- If you need to supplement the fees, the payment page is displayed. Select a payment method. Click Return to the desktop list. The desktop status is Changing. You can view the new desktop specifications in the Specifications/Image column.
- If you need to get the refund (including 0), the task submission page is displayed. Click Back to Workspace. On the Desktops page, the desktop status is Changing. You can view the changed desktop specifications in the Specifications/Image column. On the task submission page, click View order. The refund order details page is displayed. You can view the order details.
- For pay-per-use desktops, go to the task submission prompt page and click Return to the desktop list. On the desktop pool management page, click the name of the desktop pool whose specifications are to be changed. The basic information of the desktop pool is displayed. The desktop pool status is Changing. You can view the modified desktop pool specifications in Package Specifications on the basic desktop pool information page.
Changing Desktop Specifications in a Static Pool
- Log in to the console.
- In the navigation pane, choose Desktops > Desktop Pools.
The Desktop Pools page is displayed.
- Click the desktop pool name. The basic information page of the desktop pool is displayed.
- Changing the specifications of a manually created desktop:
- Locate the desktop you manually created, and choose More > Changes and Fees > Change Specifications in the Operation column. The Change Specifications page is displayed.
- Changing the specifications of an automatically created desktop:
- Changing the specifications of a single desktop:
- Locate the desktop automatically created, and choose More > Changes and Fees > Change Specifications in the Operation column. The Change Specifications page is displayed.
- Changing the specifications of multiple desktops in batches:
- Select the desktops that are automatically created.
- Click More above the list and choose Changes and Fees > Change Specifications > Change Pay-per-Use Desktop Specs.
- Perform the required operations on the Change Specifications page.
- Changing the specifications of a single desktop:
- Changing the specifications of a manually created desktop:
- Select Stop desktop to change specifications.
If you have stopped the desktop whose specifications are to be changed before accessing the page for changing specifications, the option Stop desktop to change specifications is unavailable.
- In the New Specifications area, select the required specifications and click Next.
- Confirm the change details and click Confirm.
- For pay-per-use desktops, after the task is submitted, click Return to the desktop list. On the Desktops page, the desktop status is Changing. You can view the new desktop specifications in the Specifications/Image column.
- Changing specifications does not affect the data on the system disk and data disks of the desktop.
- For pay-per-use desktops, pay attention to the fee changes caused by configuration changes (only the CPU and memory fees are included).
- For yearly/monthly-billed desktops, supplement the fees or get the refund on the corresponding page.
Changing specifications does not affect the data on the system disk and data disks of the desktop.
- If you need to supplement the fees, the payment page is displayed. Select a payment method. Then ,return to the Desktops page. The desktop status is Changing. You can view the new desktop specifications in the Specifications/Image column.

- For pay-per-use desktops, after the task is submitted, click Return to the desktop list. On the Desktops page, the desktop status is Changing. You can view the new desktop specifications in the Specifications/Image column.
Changing Desktop Specifications in a Dynamic Pool
If desktops' specifications differ from the desktop pool's settings, you are advised to align them to ensure a consistent user experience. You can filter desktops with inconsistent specifications and update them in batches.
- Log in to the console.
- In the navigation pane, choose Desktops > Desktop Pools.
The Desktop Pools page is displayed.
- Click the desktop pool name. The basic information page of the desktop pool is displayed.
- Click Specs Varied to filter desktops whose specifications are different from the pool's settings.
- Changing the specifications of a single desktop: Locate the desktop whose specifications are to be changed and choose More > Changes and Fees > Change Specifications in the Operation column. The Change Specifications page is displayed.
- Changing the specifications of desktops in batches: Click More > Changes and Fees > Change Specifications above the list. The Change Specifications page is displayed.
- Confirm the change information and select Stop desktop to change specifications.
If you have stopped the desktop whose specifications are to be changed before accessing the page for changing specifications, the option Stop desktop to change specifications is unavailable.
- Confirm the operation, and enter YES or click Auto Enter.
- click Next, and then click Confirm.
