Overview
With SecMaster, you can centrally manage cloud resources and off-cloud resources. You can view the security status statistics for all resources under your account. This helps you quickly locate security risks and find solutions.
- Cloud resources are your assets on our cloud (Huawei Cloud). SecMaster supports the following resource types: Elastic Cloud Server (ECS), Web Application Firewall (WAF), Relational Database Service (RDS), Elastic IP (EIP), and Virtual Private Cloud (VPC).
- Off-cloud resources are your assets outside our cloud (Huawei Cloud). They include on-premises servers, IDC servers, or servers on third-party cloud platforms.
Managing Cloud Resources
- Configuring Asset Subscription: You can let SecMaster automatically synchronize information about your resources on our cloud.
- Viewing Asset Information: You can view the resource name, type, protection status, and other details.
- Importing and Exporting Assets: You can import or export resource information.
- Editing or Deleting an Asset: You can edit the department, service system, and owner of a resource. Assets on the cloud can only be edited. They cannot be deleted.
Managing Resources Outside Our Cloud
- Viewing Asset Information: You can view the resource name, type, protection status, and other details.
- Importing and Exporting Assets: You can import or export resource information.
- Editing or Deleting an Asset: You can edit the department, service system, and owner of a resource. If you no longer need to display the information about some resources you imported into SecMaster, delete them one by one or in batches from the Resource Manager page. Only resources outside our cloud can be deleted.
Differences Between Managing Cloud Resources and Off-Cloud Resources
- For resources on our cloud, you can use asset subscription to quickly synchronize assets information to SecMaster. For resources outside our cloud, they can only be imported into SecMaster for management.
- For resources on our cloud, their information in SecMaster cannot be deleted. You can delete information about resources outside our cloud.

Notes and Constraints
After asset subscription, you can click System Synchronize Assets on the Resource Manager page to synchronize asset information again. The basic edition allows you to synchronize assets one time per day, and the standard or professional edition allows you to synchronize assets 20 times per day. If you exceed this threshold, the system displays error message "Insufficient resource synchronization quota." In this case, synchronize assets again the next day.
