Application Scenarios
RDS automatically creates full backups of database instances during the backup window. The system saves these backups based on a retention period you specify. If necessary, you can restore a DB instance to any point in time during your backup retention period. Once the automated backup policy is enabled, a full physical backup is triggered immediately. After that, full backups will be created according to the specified time window and backup cycle. Incremental backups are automatically created every 5 minutes to ensure data reliability. You need to ensure RDS instance backup is enabled.
If a DB instance is faulty or data is damaged, you can still restore it from backups to ensure data reliability.
Solution
Modify the backup policy as required. For details, see Configuring an Intra-Region Backup Policy and Configuring a Cross-Region Backup Policy.
Rule Logic
- If the backup function is not enabled for an RDS DB instance, this instance is non-compliant.
- If the backup function is enabled for an RDS DB instance, this instance is compliant.
