Changing a DB Instance Name
Scenarios
You can change the name of an RDS primary instance or read replica.
Procedure
- Log in to the management console.
- Click
in the upper left corner and select a region. - Click
in the upper left corner of the page and choose Databases > Relational Database Service. - On the Instances page, locate the target DB instance, click
next to it, and edit the instance name. Then, click OK.
Alternatively, click the instance name to go to the Summary page. Under DB Instance Name, click
and edit the instance name.Enter 4 to 64 characters starting with a letter. The instance name is case-sensitive and can contain only letters, digits, hyphens (-), underscores (_), and periods (.).
- To submit the change, click

- Check the results on the Summary page.
