(Optional) Creating Workspaces

This section describes how to create workspaces. After a user purchases DLV, the system creates a default workspace named default for the user by default and assigns the administrator role to the user. You can use the default workspace or create a workspace by referring to this section.

A workspace enables its administrator to manage user (member) permissions, resources, and underlying compute engines of DLV.

Each team has an independent workspace.

You can manage workspaces, data connections, screens, screen combinations, and applications only after being added to workspaces and assigned permissions.

In the workspace management, the administrator can add other users to a workspace and assign roles to them, such as Administrator, Developer, Analyst, and Visitor that are preset on DLV.

Context

  • Huawei Cloud accounts or users with the DLV FullAccess can perform all operations on DLV by default.
  • Only the users with the DLV FullAccess or Tenant Administrator permission can create, delete, or modify workspaces and set the default workspace.

The Tenant Administrator permission has all cloud service administrator permissions except the IAM management permission. For security purposes, you are not advised to grant this permission to IAM users. Exercise caution when performing this operation.

  • An IAM user can access a workspace only after being added as a member of the workspace.

Creating Workspaces
