Multiple-table Batch Encryption
Multi-table batch encryption provides a fast encryption and decryption capability for existing historical data across multiple tables.
For large-scale business systems, there are numerous tables and fields that require encryption; configuring encryption rules and applying encryption to each table and field individually would be highly time-consuming.
At this point, the administrator can utilize the system's Batch Encryption Management feature to reduce the manual workload and shorten the total encryption time required for existing historical data.
Procedure
- Logging In to the Database Encryption System using the system administrator (sysadmin) account .
- Select Project Management from the left navigation tree.
- Hover your mouse over the item you wish to configure, then click Enter to access the item.
- The administrator should sequentially select Encryption Settings> Batch Encryption Management from the left-side menu. This feature allows for performing encryption and decryption operations on fields across multiple tables simultaneously. Detailed instructions are shown in Figure 1; parameter descriptions are provided in Table 1.
This page displays all tables and columns in the current project that have already been configured with encryption rules.
Table 1 Batch encryption table meaning Parameter
Description
Data Source Name
The data source name is the same as the asset database name.
SCHEMA
The Schema in this Asset Database.
Table Name
Database table name.
Column Name
Table field name.
Field Type
The data type of the field in the table.
Notes
Comments for fields in a database table.
Automatically retrieves the comment content for table field definitions from the database.
Encryption Algorithm
The name of the encryption rule used for encrypting this field.
An encryption scheme is a combination of an encryption algorithm and a mode of operation; for example, the GCM mode of operation used with the SM4 algorithm.
Key
The key used for encrypting this field.
Execute Status
Task execution status.
- Running: The task is currently being executed.
- Blank: Not executed or execution completed.
Status
Encryption/Decryption Status.
- Encrypting...
- Encryption completed
- Encryption failed
- Decryption completed
- decrypting...
- decryption failure
Actions
Click Details to:
- View the detailed encryption settings for this field
- View or download the corresponding encrypted logs.
- Click Batch Encryption to encrypt all columns in the list.
Associative Operation
- Batch decryption: In contrast to batch encryption, batch decryption decrypts all columns in the list. Click Batch Decryption to proceed.
- Delete Backup Column: During the encryption process of existing historical data, to prevent any exceptions, the system automatically creates a backup of the data and stores it in a backup column. Click Delete Backup Column to remove these backup columns.
