Viewing Project Information

  1. Log in to the database encryption system using the system administrator (sysadmin) account.
  2. Select Project Management from the left-side navigation tree. The system will display all business systems under the management of the Database Encryption System. As shown in the figure below:

All projects are displayed as cards. When there are numerous systems under management, the system supports fuzzy search based on project name or project notes, as shown in Figure 1.

    Figure 1 Project list

The project card shown in Figure 1 displays some basic information about this project, including the following:

    • Data source: A data source refers to a database; in this system, it denotes a database that has been managed by the database encryption system – in the system, this is referred to as an Asset Database; it may also be called a Database or Data Source. For instructions on how to add a new Asset Database, please refer to the Asset Database section.

In practice, a business system may utilize one or more databases; the number "1" shown in the diagram indicates that this ERP system uses a single database and employs encryption for data protection within this system.

    • Data Domain: The term "Data Domain" is derived from the English phrase "Data Domain." A specific type of sensitive data is referred to as a data domain. For example, a telephone number is a data domain, just as an ID card is also a data domain.

The number 18 in the figure above indicates that this project encompasses 18 different data domains.

The database encryption system provides data domain management capabilities, enabling the rapid identification of sensitive data domains within business systems.

For example, the administrator knows which table contains which sensitive data.

    • Discovery Rule: refers to the rules applicable to sensitive data domains. The system performs sensitive data discovery based on these data domains.

The number 20 in the figure above indicates that this project employs 20 sensitive data discovery rules to identify sensitive data domains.

  3. Hover over the item you wish to view or edit (e.g., an ERP project), then click Enter, as shown in Figure 2.

  4. Click Enter to access the ERP project management interface, as shown in Figure 3.

    Figure 3 Managing selected items

The right-side window in the above image displays key information for this project, such as an ERP project.

    • The red bounding box indicates the project currently being managed, e.g., ERP Project.
    • Data Statistics: Displays the currently managed projects; for example, the ERP Project involves one database, 11 tables, 87 fields, etc.
    • Left navigation bar: Refers to the capabilities provided for managing the current project (e.g., ERP), including:
      • Home Page: Refers to the project's homepage.
      • Discovery and Categorization: Refers to the identification of sensitive data within the current project.
      • Pre-Release: Evaluate whether the application supports all SQL parsing operations in the testing environment.
      • Encryption Settings Management: Refers to managing the encryption of the current project.
      • Desensitization Strategy Management: Refers to the dynamic desensitization management of the current project.
