Configuring an Instance
After purchasing and enabling a database audit instance, you can manage it on the DBSS console. This section describes how to enable, disable, restart, unsubscribe from, release, and delete a database audit instance.
Prerequisites
- For details about how to enable database audit, see Enable Database Audit.
- Before enabling an instance, ensure that its Status is Disabled.
- Before disabling, unsubscribing from or restarting an instance, ensure that its Status is Running.
- Before releasing an instance, ensure that its Status is Frozen or its Billing Mode is Expired.
- Before deleting an instance, ensure that it is idle.
Constraints and Limitations
- Fees will be charged for pay-per-use instances even if their Status is Disabled. To avoid unnecessary costs, keep the instance Enabled or delete it if it is no longer needed.
- After an instance is disabled, it stops auditing the database.
- It takes 1 to 3 minutes to restart an instance. During this period, database audit is stopped.
- After an instance is unsubscribed or released, the databases added to the instance, as well as the audit configuration and audit data will be deleted and cannot be restored.
- After an instance is deleted, the databases added to the instance, as well as the audit configuration and audit data will be deleted and cannot be restored.
