Sharing a Data Source

DataArts Insight allows you to share a data source with other users or user groups. The shared users or user groups will have editing and usage permissions for the data source. This section explains how to share a data source so that team members can collaborate quickly.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the DataArts Insight console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner of the management console to select a region and select an enterprise project from Enterprise Project in the upper right corner of the Workspace page.
  3. On the top of the console, click Projects and click the name of the desired project.
  4. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Data Management > Data Sources.
  5. In the Data Sources area, locate the data source you want to authorize, click next to it, and select Share and Collaborate.
  6. Select the permissions that you want to grant.
    • Edit Authorization: Enabling this allows you to grant edit permissions to members, including editing and deleting data sources, as well as performing data analysis based on data sources.

Enabling edit permission on a data source will also enable use permission by default.

    • Use authorization: After enabling it, you can grant the use permission to members. This permission only supports data analysis based on the data source.
  7. Select the objects that you want to authorize.
    • User: Grant a user the permission to edit the data source.
    • User Group: After a user group is authorized, all users of the group will have the chosen permissions on the data source.
  8. Select the users and user groups that you want to authorize.
