Project Overview

DataArts Insight Project

Before creating a dashboard or a large screen using DataArts Insight, you need to create a project first. Under a project, you can connect data sources, create datasets, create dashboards, create large screens, and more. Projects allow you to manage and isolate resources in different groups.

Differences Between DataArts Insight Projects, IAM Projects, and Enterprise Projects

  • IAM project: You can use projects to group and isolate resources (including compute, storage, and network resources) across physical regions. A default project is provided for each region, and you can create subprojects under each default project. You can grant permissions to IAM users for accessing resources in specific projects.

For more refined access control, create subprojects under a project and purchase resources in the subprojects. IAM users can then be assigned permissions to access only specific resources in the subprojects.

    Create an IAM project.

  • Enterprise projects group and manage resources across regions. Resources in enterprise projects are logically isolated from each other.

An enterprise project can include resources in multiple regions, and resources can be added to or removed from enterprise projects. Enterprise projects allow you to assign permissions for specific cloud resources. You cannot create IAM projects after enabling Enterprise Management.

  • DataArts Insight projects can only be created within DataArts Insight to group and isolate DataArts Insight resources. A DataArts Insight project is bound to a specific region, and the resources within it cannot be used in other regions. You can bind a DataArts Insight project with an enterprise project to enable authorization of project resources across regions.

Notes and Constraints

A maximum of 200 projects can be created.
