Creating an Alarm Rule for Event Monitoring

Scenarios

This section describes how to create an alarm rule to monitor an event.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner of the page. Under Management & Governance, click Cloud Eye.
  3. On the displayed page, in the navigation pane on the left, choose Event Monitoring.
  4. On the event list page, click Create Alarm Rule in the upper right corner.
  5. On the Create Alarm Rule page, configure required parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Name of the policy. The system generates a random name and you can modify it.

    Description

    (Optional) Supplementary information about the alarm rule.

    Alarm Type

    Select Event.

    Event Type

    Event type, which can be System event or Custom event.

    Event Source

    • System event:

      Cloud service the event is generated for. Select Data Admin Service DAS.

    • Custom event: The event source must be the same as that of the reported fields and written in the service.item format.

    Monitoring Scope

    Select All resources

    Method

    The default value is Configure manually.

    Alarm Policy

    Event Name indicates the instantaneous operations users performed on system resources, such as login and logout.

    For details, see Events Supported by Event Monitoring.

    Specify Alarm Policy and Alarm Severity as required.

    Parameter

    Description

    Alarm Notification

    Whether to notify users when alarms are triggered. Notifications can be sent by email, text message, or HTTP/HTTPS message.

    Notification Recipient

    You can select a notification group or topic subscription as required.

    Notification Group

    Notification group the alarm notification is to be sent to. section .

    Notification Object

    Object that receives alarm notifications. You can select the account contact or a topic.
    • Account contact is the mobile phone number and email address of the registered account.
    • Topic is used to publish messages and subscribe to notifications. If the required topic is unavailable, create one first and add subscriptions to it.

    Notification Window

    Cloud Eye sends notifications only within the validity period specified in the alarm rule.

    If Notification Window is set to 08:00-20:00, Cloud Eye sends notifications only within 08:00-20:00.

    Trigger Condition

    Condition for triggering an alarm notification.

    Parameter

    Description

    Enterprise Project

    Enterprise project that the alarm rule belongs to. Only users with the enterprise project permissions can view and manage the alarm rule.

    Tag

    A tag is a key-value pair. Tags identify cloud resources so that you can easily categorize and search for your resources. You are advised to create predefined tags on TMS.

    • A key can contain a maximum of 128 characters, and a value can contain a maximum of 225 characters.
    • A maximum of 20 tags can be added.

  6. After the configuration is complete, click Create.
