Expanding the Capacity of an EVS Disk

If the EVS disk attached to a workload does not have enough space, you can increase its capacity by expanding it. This section describes how to expand the capacity of an EVS disk through the console.

Prerequisites

You have created a cluster and installed the CCE Container Storage (Everest) add-on in the cluster.

Pay-per-Use EVS Disk

  1. Log in to the CCE console and click the cluster name to access the cluster console.
  2. Choose Storage in the navigation pane and click the PersistentVolumeClaims (PVCs) tab. Click More in the Operation column of the target PVC and select Scale-out.

  3. Enter the capacity to be added and click OK.

The disk size can only be increased, not decreased.

Yearly/Monthly EVS Disk

  1. Log in to the CCE console and click the cluster name to access the cluster console.
  2. Choose Storage in the navigation pane and click the PersistentVolumeClaims (PVCs) tab. Click More in the Operation column of the target PVC and select Scale-out.
  3. For a yearly/monthly disk, click the disk name to go to the EVS console and expand the disk capacity.
  4. Enter the target capacity and click Next.

The disk size can only be increased, not decreased.

  5. Read the precautions carefully and submit the yearly/monthly order again.
  6. After the EVS disk is expanded, go back to the CCE console, refresh the capacity expansion page, and update the capacity for the PVC.
