Adding a Server

Scenarios

Administrators can add servers when system resources are insufficient.

Procedure

Adding a server

  1. Log in to the Workspace Application Streaming console as an administrator.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Server Groups.
  3. In the Operation column of the created server group, click Add Server.
  4. Configure the parameters based on Table 1.

    Billing Mode

    Select the charging mode of the server.

    NOTE:

    The pay-per-use and yearly/monthly billing modes are supported.

    AZ

    An AZ is a physical region where resources use independent power supplies and networks. AZs are physically isolated but connected through an intranet. If an AZ becomes faulty, other AZs in the same region will not be affected.

    NOTE:

    To achieve better disaster recovery, you are advised to create applications in different AZs.

    Random

    Required Duration

    In yearly/monthly billing mode, you can configure the required duration of the new server.

    Select the required duration of the server.

    Configure automatic renewal as required.

    • If you enable auto-renew, the system automatically deducts the renewal fee after the required duration ends.
    • If you disable auto-renew, the resource will be frozen and unavailable after the required duration expires.

    Quantity

    Select the number of servers of the same specifications.

    OU Name

    If an OU is created on the Windows AD server, you can select the OU to be used.

    NOTE:

    This parameter needs to be set only when the AD is connected.

    Protocol Component

    Huawei Delivery Protocol (HDP) server access component is installed on the APS and used to communicate with the Workspace client.

    NOTE:

    After this option is selected, if the version of the component in your image is too early, the component will be upgraded during provisioning, which may prolong the provisioning.
