Enabling Multi-Cluster Monitoring

You can use Container Intelligent Analysis to enable cluster monitoring to monitor the cluster health in real time.

This section describes how to quickly enable monitoring for an attached cluster.

Prerequisites

You have prepared a VPC on the cloud and connected the private network of the third-party cloud to the VPC. You can use either of the following solutions:

Procedure

  1. Log in to the UCS console.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Container Intelligent Analysis.
  3. Select a fleet or a cluster that is not added to the fleet, and click Enable Monitoring in the upper right corner.

  4. Select the cluster for which you want to enable monitoring.

  5. Configure the metric collection parameters. In this example, the default values are used, as shown in Figure 3.

For details about the parameters, see Enabling Monitoring for Attached Clusters.

  6. Click Confirm. The Clusters tab (Container Insights > Clusters) is displayed. The access status of the cluster is Installing.

After monitoring is enabled for the cluster, metrics such as the CPU usage and CPU allocation rate of the cluster are displayed in the list, indicating that the cluster is monitored by Container Intelligent Analysis.

Follow-up Operations

After monitoring is enabled for a cluster, you can perform intelligent and visualized O&M for the cluster. For details, see Container Intelligent Analysis.
