Migration and Synchronization for Linux

After a Linux source server passes the feasibility check, you can start the migration on the SMS console. The Agent on the source server obtains migration commands from SMS and executes the commands. During the execution, the Agent migrates directories and files from the source server to the target server. After the migration is complete, the Agent automatically launches the target server.

SMS does not support continuous synchronization for Linux file-level migrations. You can start an incremental synchronization manually if needed. Then the Agent on the source server will synchronize incremental data to the target server. When the incremental synchronization is complete, SMS will re-launch the target server. You are advised to stop services on the source server and start services on the target server upon the completion of synchronization. Otherwise, multiple synchronizations are required to ensure data consistency.
