Service Overview

In the wave of digital transformation, enterprise cloudification has become an irreversible trend. However, how to quickly, efficiently, and smoothly complete cloud transformation is always a major challenge for customers.

Huawei Cloud does not have a unified portal for enterprises. To supplement the professional service capabilities of survey, evaluation, planning, and design in the early stage of the cloud migration solution, solve the pain points of enterprise cloud migration solution planning and design, and accelerate enterprise cloud migration, Huawei Cloud launches the professional service of PaaS Adoption Planning and Design (PaaSAPD). Based on excellent architecture methodologies and rich industry practices, this service provides enterprises with full-process guidance from readiness assessment to architecture design and pilot application migration, helping enterprises understand the objectives and concepts of Huawei Cloud architecture design, improve IT personnel's understanding of the cloud, and accelerate enterprise digital transformation. Based on the current service status of enterprises, the cloud architecture planning and design and cloud migration path planning are provided to enhance enterprises' confidence in cloud migration, help customers build a stable and elastic cloud architecture, reduce cloud migration risks, and accelerate service innovation.

Applicable Scenarios

PaaS Survey and Evaluation

Paas Survey and Evaluation-Standard

Comprehensively survey and sort out enterprise applications, analyze the technical architecture of applications, sort out the dependencies between applications, sort out the application resource list, and complete application risk assessment, cloud migration complexity assessment, and cloud migration path suggestions based on enterprise requirements.

If the number of applications does not exceed 5 and the number of hosts does not exceed 100, the excess part is sold as an add-on incremental package.

If customers need to sort out application relationships and deeply analyze the application technical architecture, they can select the cloud application platform survey and assessment service. Based on the comprehensive survey and analysis at the application layer and customer requirements, the service provides application assessment, cloud migration complexity assessment, and cloud migration path suggestions, help customers clearly understand the current architecture and optimization direction, laying a solid foundation for subsequent cloud migration planning.

The incremental package provides the evaluation and diagnosis service for an extra period of time.

Paas Survey and Evaluation-Incremental package

Prerequisite: The PaaS Survey and Evaluation- Standard should be purchased first.

Additional survey and evaluation is required for complex customer business systems.

(One incremental package needs to be added when one application or 20 hosts are added.)

PaaS Plan and Design

Paas Plan and Design-Standard

Based on enterprise service requirements, application survey results, Huawei Cloud best practices, and expert experience, design a solution for migrating applications to the cloud. The solution includes Huawei Cloud methodology, application migration policies, migration tool selection, migration batch planning, migration solution design, migration rollback solution design, and verification solution design.

If the number of applications does not exceed 5 and the number of hosts does not exceed 100, the excess part is sold as an add-on incremental package.

If customers want to design a comprehensive application migration solution, they can select the cloud application platform planning and design service. This service covers the entire process of application migration, from batch planning to implementation path, and provides professional guidance to ensure the efficiency and feasibility of the migration solution, helps customers build stable, secure, and flexible cloud application systems.

If the customer requires only the migration solution design, select Application Platform Planning and Design-Standard Edition.

If the cloud platform architecture design service is required, the application platform planning and design - enabling service can be added to the planning and design service.

If the customer requires migration solution verification and customized migration services, the application platform environment building and enabling service can be used to provide coach-based migration verification support for pilot applications or human support for new environment deployment.

The incremental package provides planning and design services with extra duration.

Paas Plan and Design-Enabling

Huawei Cloud uses senior experts to provide users with cloud application platform enablement services. Based on the three cloud migration methodologies and best practices of Huawei Cloud, Huawei Cloud provides customers with enablement services such as cloud architecture design in addition to the standard service scope of cloud application platform planning and design, helping enterprises achieve efficient and secure cloud transformation, provides solution enablement services for problems that may occur during application migration to the cloud.

Paas Environment and Enabling

Huawei Cloud uses senior experts to build and enable cloud application platform environments, helping customers quickly build and configure cloud environments that meet service requirements. The service includes one-stop cloud application platform environment planning and configuration support, and migration feasibility verification of one key application to ensure that customer services can be smoothly migrated to the cloud and run stably.

Basic requirement analysis and cloud architecture design: Provide customers with standard cloud architecture design that meets service requirements.

Solution feasibility environment verification: Verify the migration feasibility of one key application and guide the customer to set up and configure the environment.

Scale restrictions: The number of component modules (ELB, host/container, middleware, database, and storage) cannot exceed 20, and the data volume cannot exceed 2 TB.

Paas Plan and Design-Incremental package

Prerequisite: The PaaS Plan and Design-Standard should be purchased first.

Additional plan and design is required for complex customer business systems.

(One incremental package needs to be added when one application or 20 hosts are added.)

Prerequisites

  • Customers need to apply for the PaaSAPD service at least 15 days in advance to evaluate customer business goals and service timelines.
  • When providing customers with the PaaSAPD service, we require customer authorization to perform the service when accessing the business environment of customers, and we also require the cooperation of the personnel from customers, including business status surveys, demand collection, solution design and review, and solution acceptance.

    • PaaS survey and evaluation

      Conduct a comprehensive review of enterprise applications, analyze application technical architecture, clarify dependencies between applications, organize a resource inventory of applications, integrate with enterprise requirements, complete application risk assessment, cloud migration complexity assessment, and provide suggestions for application cloud migration paths, and produce a professional assessment report on application readiness.

    • PaaS Plan and Design

      Based on enterprise service requirements, application survey results, Huawei Cloud best practices, and expert experience, Huawei provides professional guidance on application migration to the cloud, including Huawei Cloud methodologies, application migration policies, migration tool selection, migration batch planning, verification solution design, cloud architecture design, or migration verification of pilot applications.

  2. Service Content Not Covered
    1. Software design, transformation, installation and deployment that are not within the scope of PaaSAPD, such as third-party security software, application software, and network software purchased by customers.
    2. The cloud service expenditures required for verifying the specific solutions of PaaSAPD shall be borne by customers, such as Entity Relationship (ER), Direct Connection, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Clash for Windows (CFW), Well-Architected Framework, and other cloud service products.
    3. The specific implementation of PaaSAPD is carried out by the cloud service team involved later.
    4. Services beyond the scope of PaaSAPD, such as SecMaster, disaster recovery design, and cloud service (big data, database, etc.) resource usage planning.

Service Process

  1. Service request submission
    • The customer submits a service request.
  2. Communication and confirmation on requirements
    • Huawei organizes experts to learn about and evaluate the customer's requirements.
    • Huawei confirms the service scope and delivery objectives with the customer.
  3. Service order confirmation
    • Configure services according to customer requirements.
    • Prepare a formal implementation plan after the customer places an order successfully.
  4. Service Order Fulfillment
    • The project is officially initiated.
    • Complete the PaaS Survey and Evaluation service.
    • Complete the PaaS Plan and Design service.
    • Final project deliverables materials are collated.
  5. Service acceptance
    • Final project acceptance materials are collated.
    • The customer signs the Huawei Cloud Adoption Planning and Design Acceptance Report for xxx Project.
    • The project is accepted.

Responsibility Matrix

  1. Shared Responsibilities
    • Negotiate and confirm specific requirements and objectives.

  2. Huawei's Responsibilities
    • Huawei specifies a project owner. The customer should be notified of any personnel changes three working days in advance until the project is accepted.
    • Huawei can only use the data authorized by the customer for PaaS Adoption Planning and Design.
  3. Customer's Responsibilities
    • Assign a project owner to assist Huawei Cloud engineers in implementing the service. The project owner is responsible for coordinating and managing personnel, resources, or other matters between the two parties, and reviews and accepts the services provided by Huawei Cloud.
    • Provide business system information, including but not limited to application architecture, deployment architecture, resource quantity, and performance.

  • Both online and onsite acceptance are supported.
  • The deliverables of each service item must be submitted in compliance with the following criteria. If customers accept the deliverables, they need to sign or seal the Huawei Cloud Adoption Planning and Design Acceptance Report for xxx Project and Implementation or click the acceptance link on the Huawei Cloud official website.
