Bills

Updated on 2024-12-03 GMT+08:00

You can view bills in the Billing Center to learn about the usage and billing details of the resource in a certain period.

Bill Generation

After yearly/monthly resources are paid, a bill is reported to the billing system for settlement.

The usage of pay-per-use resources is reported to the billing system at a fixed interval. A pay-per-use resource is billed by the hour, day, or month, depending on the resource's usage type. Pay-per-use HSS is billed by hour.

You are not charged immediately after a record is generated. For example, if pay-per-use HSS (which is billed on an hourly basis) is deleted at 08:30, you will still have expenditures for the 08:00 to 09:00 hour. However, you will not likely be billed for the 08:00 to 09:00 hour until about 10:00.

On the Billing Center > Billing > Transactions and Detailed Bills > Transaction Bills page, Expenditure Time indicates the time when a pay-per-use product is used.

Viewing Bills of a Specified Quota

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner of the management console and select a region.
  3. Click in the upper left corner of the page and choose Security & Compliance > Host Security Service.
  4. Go to a quota page as required.

    • To go to the server protection quota page,
      1. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Asset Management > Servers & Quota.
      2. Click the Quotas tab.
    • To go to the container protection quota page,
      1. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Asset Management > Containers & Quota.
      2. On the Container Nodes tab, click Protection Quotas.

  1. Copy the quota ID.

    • Copy the server protection quota ID, as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1 Obtaining a server protection quota ID
    • Copy the container protection quota ID, as shown in Figure 2.
Figure 2 Obtaining a container protection quota ID

  2. On the top menu bar of the console, choose Billing & Costs > Bills. The Bills page is displayed.
  3. In the navigation pane, choose Billing > Expenditure Details.
  4. On the Bill Details page, click Settings and select Resource Name or ID. In the search box, enter the quota ID copied by 5. Click to search for the bill of the quota.

By default, expenditure details are displayed by usage and the statistical period is a billing cycle. You can also set other statistical dimensions and periods.

Scenario Example: Checking the Consistency of the Actual Usage and Billed Usage

Assume that you purchased a pay-per-use HSS quota of the premium edition at 10:09:06 on June 30, 2023 and disabled it later that day, at 12:09:06.

  • HSS transaction bills

Pay-per-use HSS usage is calculated by the second and billed on an hourly basis. You can check the transaction bills against the actual usage. For details, see Table 1.

Expenditure Time

From 10:09:06 on April 08, 2023 to 12:09:06 on April 08, 2023, 3 transaction bills would be generated for the resource usage in the following periods:

  • 2023/04/08 10:09:06 – 2023/04/08 11:00:00
  • 2023/04/08 11:00:00 – 2023/04/08 12:00:00
  • 2023/04/08 12:00:00 – 2023/04/08 12:09:06

List Price

List price on the official website = Usage x Unit price

In this example, the HSS premium edition was used for 3,054 seconds in the first period, and the unit price can be obtained on the HSS Pricing Details. For example, if the unit price is $0.028 USD/quota/hour, the list price is calculated as follows: (3054/3600) x $0.028 USD = $0.02375333 USD. Similarly, you can calculate the HSS list price for the other periods.

Discounted Amount

Discounts offered for cloud services, for example, commercial discounts, partner authorized discounts, and promotional discounts. Discounts are based on the list prices.

Truncated Amount

Huawei Cloud billing is calculated to the 8th decimal place. However, the amount due is truncated to the 2nd decimal place. The third and later decimal places are referred to as the truncated amounts.

Take the first period as an example. The truncated amount is $0.00375333 USD.

Amount Due

Amount due = List price – Discount amount – Truncated amount

Take the first period as an example. If the discount amount is 0, the amount due is $0.02 USD (0.02375333 – 0 – 0.00375333).

  • HSS bill details

Bill details can display in multiple ways. By default, the bill details of a resource are displayed by usage and by billing cycle. Table 2 illustrates the HSS bill details, which can be used to check against the actual usage.

Unit Price

When pay-per-use billing is used, the unit price is only provided if the amount is equal to the usage multiplied by the unit price.

No unit price is provided in other pricing modes, for example, tiered pricing. You can check the unit price in HSS Pricing Details.

Unit

Displayed on the HSS Pricing Details page. Example: USD/quota/hour

Usage

Depends on the unit of the unit price, which, for HSS, is USD/quota/hour. HSS usage is measured by hour. In this example, the total usage is 2 hours.

Usage Unit

Hour

List Price

List price on the official website = Usage x Unit price

HSS is used for 2 hours in total, and the unit price is obtained on the HSS Pricing Details page. The list price = 2 x $0.028 USD = $0.056 USD.

Discount

Discounts offered for cloud services, for example, commercial discounts, partner authorized discounts, and promotional discounts. Discounts are based on the list prices.

Amount Due

Amount that should be paid for used cloud services after discounts are applied.
