Confirming the Filing Entity
An ICP filing is a legal requirement in the Chinese mainland. All websites based in the Chinese mainland must complete an ICP filing.
A filing entity must have been registered with a registration certificate in the Chinese mainland.
- If a filing entity registered outside the Chinese mainland has a branch registered in the Chinese mainland, the entity can use the registration certificate of the branch to apply for an ICP filing.
- If a filing entity registered outside the Chinese mainland does not have a branch registered in the Chinese mainland but has an office established, the entity can request the administration for industry and commerce where the office is located for a Registration Certificate of Resident Representative Office of Foreign Enterprises and use it as a business license to apply for an ICP filing.
