Possible Causes
1. The local interface or the peer interface was configured to work in half-duplex mode.
2. One of the connected interfaces worked in auto-negotiation mode whereas the other interface worked in non-automatic negotiation mode.
Procedure
- Check whether the interface is expected to work in half-duplex mode.
(1) If so, go to Step 5.
(2) If not, go to Step 2.
- In the interface view of the local interface and the peer interface, run the display this command to check whether the half-duplex mode is configured.
(1) If so, run the duplex full command to forcibly configure the interface to work in full-duplex mode.
(2) If not, go to Step 4.
- In the interface view of the local interface and the peer interface, run the display this command to check whether one interface works in auto-negotiation mode whereas the other interface works in non-automatic negotiation mode.
(1) If so, run the negotiation auto command to configure the interface working in non-automatic negotiation mode to work in auto-negotiation mode.
(2) If not, go to Step 4.
