What Should I Pay Attention to When Using GaussDB?
- DB instance OSs are invisible to you. Your applications can access a database only through an IP address and a port.
- The backup files stored in OBS and the ECS used by GaussDB are invisible to you. They are visible only in the GaussDB instance management system.
- Before viewing the instance list, ensure that the current region is the same as the region where the instance is purchased.
- After purchasing GaussDB instances, you do not need to perform basic database O&M operations, such as applying HA and security patches. However, you must still pay attention to whether:
- The CPU, IOPS, and storage space are abundant for the GaussDB instances. If any of these becomes insufficient, you will have to change the CPU/memory specifications or scale up the storage.
- The performance of the GaussDB instance is adequate, a large number of slow SQL queries exist, SQL statements need to be optimized, or if any indexes are redundant or missing.
