General AZs

Description

  • Availability zone (AZ)

An AZ is a physical region where resources use independent power supplies and networks. AZs are physically isolated but interconnected through an internal network.

There are multiple AZs in each region. If one AZ becomes faulty, other AZs in the same region continue to provide services.

  • Randomly assigned

When creating a dedicated WAF engine instance, you can let the cloud platform randomly allocate an AZ. The cloud platform usually allocates a default AZ based on your Universally Unique Identifier (UUID).

ECS specifications vary depending on AZs. If you select Random, the cloud platform allocates the AZ where the ECS is located based on the selected ECS specifications. For example, the S6 ECSs are available only in AZ 1. S3 ECSs can be purchased in AZ 2 and AZ 3 and has been sold out in AZ 1. If you set AZ to Random, you can view both S6 and S3 ECSs. If you create an S6 ECS, the system automatically allocates it to AZ 1. If you create an S3 ECS, the system randomly allocates it to AZ 2 or AZ 3.
