What Is a Sandbox?

A sandbox consists of special Huawei Cloud CDN PoPs that are kept separate from the rest. It is used to isolate risky domain names.

When Is a Domain Name Moved to a Sandbox?

Huawei Cloud CDN is designed for acceleration. It does not include built-in attack protection by default. If a domain name is attacked (for example, by CC or DDoS attacks) or its bandwidth or QPS spikes sharply without any notification, Huawei Cloud CDN has the right to move the domain name to a sandbox to protect the rest of the network.

What Happens After a Domain Name Is Moved to a Sandbox?

If a domain name is moved to a sandbox, its configuration cannot be modified, and CDN no longer guarantees its acceleration performance. As a result, the domain may be inaccessible through CDN.

How Is a Domain Name Billed in a Sandbox?

Domain names in a sandbox continue to be billed based on usage, following standard CDN pricing.

How Can a Domain Name Be Moved Out of the Sandbox?

After the attack stops and the domain name's bandwidth or QPS returns to normal, the domain name will be automatically moved out of the sandbox and switched back to regular PoPs.
