Can I Use a Bastion Host to Manage Linux Hosts Through a GUI?

Yes.

CBH can manage resources with the VNC (Virtual Network Computing) protocol configured, making it possible for you to log in to the graphical user interface of Linux hosts for operations.

The process is as follows:

  1. Run a local connectivity test and ensure that the VNC is properly connected to the Linux host.

For details, see Using VNC Viewer to Access a Linux ECS. CBH does not ensure the compatibility of third-party VNC software.

  2. Add the Linux host to the bastion host system for management.

To configure VNC for a managed host resource, select VNC for Protocol in the New Host dialog box. For details, see Managing Host and Database Resources with a Bastion Host.

  3. Log in to a Linux host using a web browser to perform graphical operations.

For details, see Using a Web Browser to Log In to Managed Resources for Operations.
