Service Termination Policy Function Will Be Taken Offline

Huawei Cloud CDN will take the service termination policy function offline on March 6, 2024 UTC+08:00. The following table lists the logic difference when the retention period starts before and after the change.

Table 1 Process of handling domain names

Before March 6, 2024

After March 6, 2024

If your account is in arrears and the retention period starts, CDN will execute the termination policy you set:

  • Disable domain name: CDN changes the status of your domain names to Disabled and stops CDN acceleration. The domain names cannot be accessed but their configurations are retained (until the retention period ends). After you pay off the outstanding amount, CDN will enable acceleration for them.
  • Redirect to origin server: All requests to your domain names are redirected to the primary origin servers. CDN changes the status of your domain names to Disabled and stops CDN acceleration. CDN retains the domain name configurations (until the retention period ends). After you write off the outstanding amount, requests for the domain name will be forwarded to CDN PoPs for acceleration.
    NOTE:
    • After a domain name is terminated for 30 days, CDN no longer provides the redirect service, and the domain name cannot be accessed.

Disable domain name: CDN deletes the CNAME resolution of your domain names. In this case, the domain names cannot be accessed.

NOTE:

If the service termination policy is set to Redirect to origin server before the change, CDN will continue to execute this policy after the change. To modify the policy, submit a service ticket.

Service recovery method: After you pay off the outstanding amount and your account balance is sufficient, CDN automatically enables acceleration for your domain names.
