Operation Process

Preparations

• Accounts and permissions: Prepare the login accounts (with root permissions) of the source servers, and Huawei Cloud accounts and permissions of the target servers.
• Source server environments: Ensure that the source server environments and available space meet migration requirements.
• Source server network: Set the network of the source servers to meet migration requirements.
• System compatibility: Ensure that the OSs and versions of the source servers are compatible with SMS.

Installing and Starting the Agent on a Source Server

Install and start the Linux SMS-Agent on the source Linux servers.

Configuring a Target Server

After the SMS-Agent is started on the source servers, select the target servers on the SMS console and configure them.

Starting Full Replication

After the target servers are configured on the SMS console, start full replication to synchronize source servers to the target servers. After that, the system automatically starts the target servers.

Testing the Target Server

Verify whether the data on the target servers is consistent with that on the source servers and whether the applications and services can run properly.

Synchronizing and Verifying Incremental Data

Synchronize incremental data from the source servers to the target servers and confirm that all data is synchronized.

Performing a Cutover

Switch services from the source servers to the target servers and use the target servers to handle services.
