Pay-per-Use

Introduction

You will be billed for OBS on a pay-per-use basis by default. With this billing mode, you pay only for the time (hours) when resources are actually used. There is no minimum fee.

Billing Cycles

The system collects usage statistics every hour and generates CDRs based on the actual usage of the previous hour. For example, a CDR generated at 19:30 usually records the cost from 18:00 to 19:00 or from 17:00 to 18:00 due to possible delays.

The minimum settlement duration is an hour regardless of when objects are uploaded. Specifically, if an object is uploaded between 18:00 and 19:00, the billed storage duration is the full hour between 18:00 and 19:00.

Billing Formula

Cost = Used resources x Unit price

If you are using the pay-per-use billing mode, you can quickly calculate the fees for using OBS by referring to the Product Pricing Details page.

Billing Examples

Assume that the unit price of Standard storage is 0.0000784 AED/GB per hour, and there are 100,000 GB Standard objects in a bucket with the single-AZ policy. The storage fee generated in this hour is calculated as follows: 0.0000784 AED/GB/hour x 100,000 GB x 1 hour = 7.84 AED.
