Installing Windows 10

Scenarios

Create a standard image server as required and install the OS.

Procedure

1. After the image server is prepared in Creating an Image, the page for installing and configuring software is displayed.

2. Select the language to be installed, time and currency format, and keyboard and input method as prompted, and click Next.
3. Click Install now. The page for selecting the OS to be installed is displayed.
4. Select the version of the OS to be installed and click Next. The page for reading the license terms is displayed.
5. Select I accept the license terms, and click Next. The Which type of installation do you want? window is displayed.
6. Select Custom: Install Windows only (advanced). The Where do you want to install the operating system? window is displayed.
7. Select the default disk.
   If no default disk is available, perform the following operations:

   1. Click Load Driver.
   2. Click Browse.
   3. Under CD Driver (X), select virtio-win > viostor > w10 > amd64 and click OK.
   4. Select the default disk and click Next.
   5. Click Next.

8. The Windows installation page is displayed, and the OS installation starts.

   Wait for the OS installation. During the installation, the ECS will automatically restart. Log in to the ECS again and complete the subsequent OS configuration as prompted.

9. Select a region as required, for example, China. Click Yes.
10. Select a keyboard layout as required. Click Yes.
11. On the page asking whether you want to add a second keyboard layout, click Skip.
12. Configure the network as required.

    If no configuration is required, click I don't have internet in the lower left corner, and then click Continue with limited setup.

13. Set Who Will Use This Computer? Set the name to admin and click Next.
    

    You are advised to create a user named admin. The username and password can be used for subsequent server configuration.

14. Enter the password and click Next.
15. Enter the password in 14 again and click Next.
16. Add three security questions as required and click Next.
17. On the Choose privacy settings for your device window, click Accept.
18. In Let Cortana help you get things done, click Not now or Accept.

    Wait for several minutes. The computer automatically installs and configures the OS based on the configuration information. After the configuration is complete, you will enter the ECS.
