Binding a Key Pair
You can bind a key pair to a Linux FlexusX instance using the methods described in this section.
Binding a Key Pair on the FlexusX Instance Purchase Page
When creating a Linux FlexusX instance, select Key pair for Login Mode and select an available key pair. For details, see "Login Mode" in Purchasing a FlexusX Instance.
After the FlexusX instance is created, the selected key pair is bound to it.
Binding a Key Pair on the FlexusX Instance Details Page
If you have already created a Linux FlexusX instance, you can bind a key pair to it on the instance details page.
- Log in to the FlexusX console. In the upper left corner, click
and select a region. - Click the target instance to go to the instance details page.
- Locate Key Pair and click Not configured.

- On the Key Pair Service page, click the ECS List tab.
- Locate the target instance and click Bind.
- If the instance is stopped, a dialog box for binding a key pair is displayed, as shown in Figure 1.
- If the instance is running, a dialog box shown in Figure 2 is displayed, requiring you to provide the root password.
- If you have the root password, you can directly enter the password to bind the key pair to the instance.
- If you do not have the root password, stop the instance first and then bind the key pair to it.
- Select a new key pair from the drop-down list box.
- Set the port. By default, the port is 22.
- Determine whether to select Disable the password login mode. It is selected by default.
- Read and select I have read and agree to Key Pair Service Disclaimer.
- Click OK.
Binding a Key Pair on the DEW Console
If you have already created a Linux FlexusX instance, you can bind a key pair to it on the DEW console.
- Log in to the DEW console.Log in to the DEW console.
- In the navigation pane on the left, choose Key Pair Service. The Key Pair Service page is displayed.
- Click ECS List to show the instance list.
- Locate the target instance and click Bind.
- If the instance is stopped, a dialog box for binding a key pair is displayed, as shown in Figure 3.
- If the instance is running, a dialog box shown in Figure 4 is displayed, requiring you to provide the root password.
- If you have the root password, you can directly enter the password to bind the key pair to the instance.
- If you do not have the root password, stop the instance first and then bind the key pair to it.
- Select a new key pair from the drop-down list box.
- Set the port. By default, the port is 22.
- Determine whether to select Disable the password login mode. It is selected by default.
- Read and select I have read and agree to Key Pair Service Disclaimer.
- Click OK.
