Rebuilding an Instance

Scenarios

You can restore data by rebuilding the instance from the recycle bin. This ensures that even if an instance is deleted by mistake, the data can be easily recovered, helping maintain business continuity. For details about the retention period, see recycle bin.

Precautions

  • You can rebuild DB instances within the retention period from the recycle bin.
  • After an instance is deleted, the system retains the most recent automated full backup of the previous day. If there is no automated full backup generated on that day, it retains the latest available one. When the total number of backups in the recycle bin is fewer than 100, the system will create a full backup and move it to the recycle bin. You can choose any of the backups to rebuild the instance.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region and a project.
  3. Click in the upper left corner of the page and choose Databases > Document Database Service.
  4. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Recycle Bin.
  5. On the Recycle Bin page, locate the instance to be rebuilt and in the Operation column, click Rebuild.
