Region

Regions are defined by their geographical location and network latency. Public services, such as Elastic Cloud Server (ECS), Elastic Volume Service (EVS), Object Storage Service (OBS), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Elastic IP (EIP), and Image Management Service (IMS), are shared within the same region. For lower network latency and quick resource access, select the region nearest to your workloads.

Selecting a Region

When selecting a region, consider the following factors:

  • Location

    For lower network latency and quick resource access, select the region nearest to your workloads or target users.

    For example, if your workload is in Beijing, you can select CN North-Beijing4.

    If your workload is in Asia Pacific (outside the Chinese mainland), you can select AP-Bangkok or AP-Singapore.

    Huawei Cloud provides services in many regions around the world. You can select a region and an AZ based on requirements. For more information, see Global Products and Services.

  • Resource Pricing

    Resource prices may vary by region. For details, see "Product Pricing Details".

What Are the Requirements for Selecting an Access Point for a Global EIP?

You can bind a global EIP to a cloud instance (such as an ECS and load balancer) in any region on the cloud to enable communications with the Internet. You can specify an access point for a global EIP to allow Internet access traffic to reach the cloud from the specified access point.

A global EIP needs to have a global internet bandwidth bound for Internet communications. A global EIP can only be added to a global internet bandwidth from its same access point.
